How to Get the Most Out of HR Tech 2015

How to Get the Most Out of HR Tech 2015The HR Technology Conference and Expo is always one of our favorite industry events of the year. All the major HR tech companies have a presence there, and it attracts the top bloggers and analysts in the industry. Whether you’re an industry veteran or it’s your first time at HR Tech, the conference has a lot to offer.

Our Plans for HR Tech

We’re looking forward to seeing Don MacPherson, president and co-founder of Modern Survey, speak about the work his company did with Sony Pictures to implement an employee feedback strategy and the tools necessary to both listen and respond to employee feedback. The session will focus on how to build strategies to align your data, move to a pulse format and think differently about engagement as the primary index of the health of your organization.

And just because HR Tech is in Las Vegas doesn’t mean we can’t bring a little of the bayou along. We’re excited to host our third-annual Bayou Bash at HR Tech this year on Sunday October 18 from 8-11 p.m. at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay.

We’ll be offering an open bar, great food and our favorite Vegas cover band. Who will be there? HR Tech vendors and sponsors, emerging HR tech companies, HR decision-makers, journalists and bloggers — and, we hope, you!

Thanks to our party sponsors, BlackbookHR and Fuel50, who are helping us buy booze and bring people together at HR Tech. BlackbookHR has pretty incredible technology to help organizations monitor and boost engagement (Stop by their booth for a demo!). Fuel50 is a career path software that helps employees grow their careers — and helps HR build an agile workforce.

What We’ve Learned

After several years of attending and supporting clients at the event, here are some of our favorite tips to get the most out of HR Tech:

  • Join the conference LinkedIn group and connect with the organizers on Twitter and Facebook. You’ll get a jump-start on news and developments as the conference approaches.
  • Leave lots of time for the vendor floor. Unlike other conferences you might attend, the vendor floor is where the action is at HR Tech. Dive right in and start talking to people. You’ll quickly catch up on what’s new in the space.
  • You also want to make sure you check out the best new HR tech startups. They’ve got some great ideas on what’s next for the HR tech industry.
  • Visit the booths of three companies you’ve never heard of. You’ll get new perspectives on the latests trends in HR.

Be sure to RSVP for the Bayou Bash. Hope to see you there!
